Hermosa Beach Chamber Announces Man And Woman Of The Year
George Barks and Adrienne Slaughter are longtime Hermosa Beach residents.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA – The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau announced the 2018 Man and Woman of the Year Award winners Wednesday. George Barks and Adrienne Slaughter will be honored at the Chamber’s annual Installation Dinner Gala.
Barks was born and raised in Hermosa Beach and has been a businessman and property owner in the city since 1962. He served on the Hermosa Beach City Council for 12 years and served as the City’s Mayor in 1975, 1980 and 1985.
Slaughter has lived in Hermosa Beach for a majority of her life, and joined the Hermosa Beach Woman’s Club over 15 years ago. She has been on its Board and its PR chair for many years, and founded the Adrienne’s Search for Children’s Cancer Cure.

The gala takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at The Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach. The event is open to the public and tickets are on sale now. Please call the Chamber for details at (310) 376-0951.
