Hermosa Beach Company Wants to Revolutionize the Hiring Process with New App

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — As more and more millennials are entering the job market, a Hermosa Beach company is banking on companies adapting to these "digital natives" to attract and hire top talents.

Beehive Talent is hoping to get rid of the old-school (and often time-consuming) job fairs, résumés and interview processes with its new app. In the app, both prospective employees and employers post Snapchat-like videos, that way hiring managers can get a better sense of a candidate's personality. Decisions are made faster and poorly matched candidates are weeded out faster, the company said.

According to the company, more than 65 percent of candidates lie or have mistakes on their résumés, so it's an outdated way of making hiring decisions.

"This is going to revolutionize recruiting," Beehive Talent's CEO Mukundh Pandian said. "Let's get rid of the inefficiencies in the dated recruiting practices of today."

The app works by having employers fill out some basic information and record a short video about the job. Then a link is generated, which then can be shared on job boards, social media and existing recruitment email lists.
