Hermosa Runs from Pier to Pier

Whether walking, running or just enjoying the sand between their toes, Hermosa Beach residents kicked off the summer G.I. Joe Pier-to-Pier Run/Walk at the Hermosa pier on Saturday. Runners and walkers trekked about four miles in the sand as the run/walk route took them to the Manhattan Beach Pier and back. 

Some participants completed the race in 30 minutes, while others took more than an hour. Participants were divided into two groups, runners and walkers, and paid a $30 registration fee, which benefits El Segundo Middle School, the KCJ Memorial fund, Growing Great and other local charities.
