Local Man Runs for Congress
Dr. Kenneth Wright, South High Graduate Represents District 33

My brother, Dr. Kenneth Wright, is from the South Bay. Our parents brought their six children to Redondo Beach in 1966 and we all graduated from South High School where Ken was on the wrestling team. Go Spartans! Ken has lived or worked in District 33 almost entirely since 1966 and now he is running for United States Congress. He wants to represent all people in this District, even women, who like me, believe Judge Kavanaugh was just a teenager, exploring then and being exploited now. And, for the record, I am a female survivor of sexual abuse. Maybe he did it, maybe he didn't, maybe she's accusing the wrong person 36 years later. The FBI will let us know soon. This is a critical precedent and as of now, Judge Kavanaugh is still innocent. The rule of law is important to me and this is a turning point in American justice. Politics is tricky. What the main stream media doesn't report is that the woman shouting at Senator Jeff Flake (R) AZ, in the elevator who changed the date for the nomination vote, is a professional activist. She was paid to get in his face, which for me, completely undermined her credibility. The politics of truth is complex. When Senator Flake was interviewed on 60 Minutes, this Sunday, he was asked if he would have acted the same way and changed his mind at the last minute if he were not up for re-election. He, guffawed and said absolutely not, he would have kept quiet! That there is no such thing as bi-partisanism in Washington. What a startling admission and yet an uncomfortable truthful one. Politicians do this two-faced all the time. If he were running for office, he would have stuck to the Republican line. That must make his Arizona constituents sick.
How do we know what to believe? Who to believe? These are the predominant questions facing all of us in all political parties today. In District 33, the current Congressman, Ted Lieu (D) seems like a nice guy, always in photos at brewery, wine bars and marijuana dispensary openings but he flies low under the radar these days when we near an election. Unfortunately, instead of using his position as public servant to better the community and the country, he has been embroiled in one political scandal after another, including campaign finance investigations because he used campaign funds for personal expenditures or something more troubling as his association with Leland Yee, who was convicted and imprisoned for gun trafficking. Talk about Jeff Flake's duplicity, Ted Lieu, who most of his constituents think is pro-environment, took $13,000 in 2010 from stadium Developer Ed Roski, Jr. and got the California State Legislature to exempt his NFL stadium from otherwise mandatory environmental regulations. Ted Lieu wants his supporters to think he is pro-Veterans, and yet without VA authorization, he took Veteran land in LA and leased it out to oil drillers. It's all true and Google-able. Most recently, Ted Lieu, who purports to be pro-LBGTQ and pro-Jewish community awarded his friend, Linda Sarsour Farrakhan, a "Humanitarian" award when she is completely anti-gay and has gone on the record stating, 'We should not humanize Israelis." We should not "humanize" Israelis? Just as we cannot believe Jeff Flake, or who is telling the truth at the SCOTUS he-said-she-said battle, we cannot believe Ted Lieu.
Dr. Kenneth Wright has been a pediatric ophthalmologist in District 33 for nearly 30 years. He has a Foundation for underprivileged children for whom he performs eye surgeries at no cost. He travels the world teaching eye surgeries and operating on their underprivileged. He is running for Congress because he can't stand the unmitigated corruption. He is a candidate that believes in the rule of law and is a compassionate conservative who wants to represent everyone in District 33. Dr. Wright has already started work with homeless activist, Ted Hayes and has created a protocol for a comprehensive solution to the wrenching and ever-increasing homeless problem in Los Angeles and across the nation. As a surfer since 1966, the environment is paramount not just a campaign strategy. He believes in a strong economy and doesn't know how the south Bay lost long-time good neighbor and employer Nissan under Lieu's watch. Dr. Wright stands with ICE and believes border security and fair immigration is essential. Additionally, education needs improvement and job training for our youth and our veterans and our legal immigrants is at the top of the list. And as a doctor, Ken is uniquely equipped to find solutions to quell the opioid epidemic and the continued increase in autism in this country and not turn a blind eye to big pharmaceuticals who could be an asset rather than complicit.

Dr. Wright believes in complete transparency and open communication. To that end, he wants more than anything to debate Ted Lieu in an open forum. In fact he and Ted Lieu have been invited to four debates over the last two years and Dr. Wright has shown up to all four and Ted Lieu has not shown up for any. In fact, Ted Lieu does not want his constituents to have the opportunity to ask him questions regarding any of the above or why he does not support ICE or the wall or the move of our embassy to Jerusalem or how it could be that he has missed 200 votes in Washington. Dr. Kenneth Wright is my brother and I know he will make a great Congressman, a great Representative of District 33 and a great difference in America.
