MemorialCare Medical Group Opens Torrance Health Center
New Health Center Provides Patients Convenient Access to Primary Care and Pediatric Services
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – MemorialCare Medical Group, a member of MemorialCare with locations in Orange and Los Angeles counties, has opened a new health center in Torrance. MemorialCare Medical Group – Torrance is located at 22719 Hawthorne Boulevard.
The brand new two-story, 10,396 square-foot-building provides patients access to three health care providers including: internist Peter Kaneshige, M.D. and pediatricians Karen Alfonso, M.D., and Salvacion Torre, M.D.
To celebrate its new location, MemorialCare Medical Group – Torrance is inviting the local community to an open house on Saturday, November 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will provide attendees a chance to tour the health center; enjoy goodies from King’s Hawaiian and Aloha Shave Ice Company; a kids’ corner offering face painting, balloon artist and Gymboree Play & Music activities; opportunity drawings including a chance to win a pair of tickets to Disneyland; complimentary cholesterol/glucose screenings for the first 100 registrants; and the first 150 guests will receive a free stadium blanket.

“The delivery of high-quality health care to local patients by outstanding physicians at one convenient location is our primary goal when planning the development of new health centers, explains Mark Schafer, MD, CEO, of MemorialCare Medical Foundation. “We are excited to have Torrance residents join us in celebrating the opening of this new health center.”
MemorialCare Medical Group accepts most major HMO, PPO, EPO, POS and some Covered California plans, as well as Medicare, Tricare, Medicare Advantage and Supplemental plans. New patients are now being accepted. The health center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free parking is available.
