South Bay Locals Can Get Special Teen Choice Wristbands

Producers will be distributing special "locals-only" wristbands to South Bay residents to attend the TEEN CHOICE 2019 award show.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — TEEN CHOICE award producers will be distributing "locals-only" wristbands to teens of all ages on August 8 and 9 to attend the award show in order to encourage walking, biking, skating and skateboarding to the event, it was announced Monday.

Wristbands will be available for free to residents who have an identification card or other proof of residency in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach, the City of Hermosa Beach press release said. The wristbands will be distributed on a first come, first served basis from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hermosa Beach Community Center, located at 710 Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach.

"We are excited to host TEEN CHOICE 2019 and look forward to welcoming everyone to Hermosa Beach. TEEN CHOICE 2019 will offer a rare and free opportunity for our teens to see some of their favorite performers and actors live on stage at their hometown beach," said Mayor Stacey Armato. "We thank FOX and TEEN CHOICE 2019 for supporting our efforts to encourage walking and cycling to Hermosa Beach to reduce the demand for parking and ease traffic congestion during this exciting live event."

All local resident wristband holders will have access to a preferred, locals-only standing area to watch the show, the press release said. The two-hour event will air from Hermosa Beach on Sunday, August 11.
