10 Injured, 2 Critically, in 2-Vehicle Crash in Highland Park

An 18-year-old man and 14-year-old passenger are hospitalized in critical condition.

Ten people were injured, two critically, in a two-vehicle collision Friday in Highland Park, authorities said.

The crash happened at 3:18 p.m. in the 100 block of East Avenue 45, near the Pasadena (110) freeway in Highland Park, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

An 18-year-old man driving one of the cars was hospitalized in critical condition, along with a 14-year-old passenger, Scott said.

Three other boys, a 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds, were in the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Scott said.

Five people in the other vehicle were all treated at the scene and released, he said.
