Aldama Elementary Students Take Home Silver Medals!

Aldama Elementary students take home silver medals in math competition.

Four fourth grade students from Aldama Elementary won silver medals in Conceptual Understanding during this weekend's Math Field Day, which is sponsored by Los Angeles County Office of Education. This was the first time the Highland Park school participated in the event in which 464 students from 33 districts across Los Angeles County competed in 15 scored tasks. The districts participating included South Pasadena, La Canada, Alhambra, and Palos Verdes Unified, among others. Thanks to Aldama Elementary's principal, Sergio Corral, for showing support at the event. Many thanks to our fifth grade team members: Diane Arenas, Zane Driskill, Diego Christensen, and Janai Jimenez for their hard work. Congratulations to Sadie Ferguson, Mario Alcaraz, Elijah Gomez-Tagle, and Albert Castaneda for their silver medals. Finally, thank you Aldama parents for your continued commitment to public education.
