Alliance of River Communities Meets Tonight

1. Alliance of River Communities meeting

The Alliance of River Communities, which represents a variety of east and northeast neighborhood councils stretching all the way from Los Feliz and the Hollywood freeway to Highland Park, is scheduled to hold its monthly meeting Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Glassell Park Senior & Community Center, located at 3750 N. Verdugo Rd., 90065. City Attorney Mike Feuer will be the special guest, and his team will be available to answer questions about ARC neighborhoods. 

2. Kiwanis Club Board meeting

Sit in on the Greater Highland Park Kiwanis Club Board meeting Thursday afternoon and share your ideas for a better Highland Park with the board members. The Kiwanis meet at Milo Terrace Baptist Church Community Room, 754 N. Ave. 50, from noon to 1:30pm. Visitors are welcome. Lunch is $5 at the door.

3. St. Ignatius Summer Festival

Mark your calendar—St. Ignatius of Loyola Church will host its Summer Festival on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 322 North Ave., (323) 256-3041 61. A Community Festival Dinner is also scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $10 per person. Call Heinrich Keifer at (323) 385-4935 for tickets in advance.
