Book Readings, Storytime—and Plan For 'El Plan'

It's not that hard to get over the hump.

1. Readings at Pop-Hop Books

Pop-Hop Books & Print, located at 5002 York Blvd., next to Cafe de Leche, is scheduled to hold book readings today, Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. by poet Alex Dimitrov and writer Kate Durbin.

Mark you calendars—a meeting to discuss the longterm sustainability of the Southwest Museum is scheduled Thursday, Aug. 29, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mount Washington Elementary School, 3981 San Rafael Ave. A representative of the Autry National Center is expected to give a presentation about the diversity of the museum's collection. Community members from across Northeast Los Angeles will be invited to discuss the museum's future at the meeting, which will be hosted by the El Plan Del Southwest Museum Working Group. Simultaneous translations in Spanish will be available. RSVP to info@elplan.org.
