Book Readings, Storytime—and Plan For 'El Plan'

1. Readings at Pop-Hop Books

Pop-Hop Books & Print, located at 5002 York Blvd., next to Cafe de Leche, is scheduled to hold book readings today, Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. by poet Alex Dimitrov and writer Kate Durbin.

2. Little One’s Storytime

Kids under four years of age and their caregivers are invited to the Arroyo Seco Regional Branch Library at 6145 N. Figueroa St. for an event revolving around storytelling, music and kids play. The fun starts at 10: 30 a.m. Call (323) 255-0537 if you have any questions.

3. 'The Plan' for Southwest Museum?

Mark you calendars—a meeting to discuss the longterm sustainability of the Southwest Museum is scheduled Thursday, Aug. 29, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mount Washington Elementary School, 3981 San Rafael Ave. A representative of the Autry National Center is expected to give a presentation about the diversity of the museum's collection. Community members from across Northeast Los Angeles will be invited to discuss the museum's future at the meeting, which will be hosted by the El Plan Del Southwest Museum Working Group. Simultaneous translations in Spanish will be available. RSVP to info@elplan.org.
