The fire burned at least a quarter of an acre of grass along the southbound side of the 110 Freeway.

HIGHLAND PARK, CA — A small brush fire broke out in Highland Park Wednesday afternoon not far from a one-acre blaze in Elysian Park.

The Highland Park grass fire burned about a fourth of an acre of grass by 4:30 p.m. The Los Angeles Fire department quickly put out the blaze in Elysian Park and diverted air support to the Highland Park fire near the southbound 110 Freeway. By 6 p.m., the California Highway Patrol had canceled the SigAlert for lanes 2 and 3 of the southbound Pasadena (110) Freeway at York Boulevard, which were shut down for the brush fire.
