Cal State LA Shooting Threat Prompts Lab Evacuation

Police investigated the threat and determined it was not credible. The telephoned threat had prompted the evacuation of a computer lab.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A shooting threat at Cal State Los Angeles prompted the evacuation of the school's computer lab, but it was later deemed not credible, authorities said Wednesday morning.

A caller phoned the Annex Link computer lab, located in Simpson Tower, just after 5 p.m. Tuesday and said he would come and shoot inside the building unless it was evacuated, according to a statement from the Cal State L.A. Department of Public Safety.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the building was cleared," the statement said.
