1. Highland Park Old L.A. Certified Farmers' Market & Outdoor Fair
Highland Park's weekly Farmers' Market is scheduled on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Avenue 57 and Marmion Way, adjacent to the Metro Gold Line. This is a special kind of market: Proceeds go to the North Figueroa Association, a nonprofit group that will use the money for the security, cleanliness and improvement of the North Fig corridor and community. 2. Food Truck Feast
Highland Park’s weekly food truck feast unfolds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the parking lot in front of the former Figueroa Produce building, located at 6312 N. Figueroa St. Food trucks from across Los Angeles are expected to be there until 9 p.m. Stay tuned for details.

3. Gil Cedillo Listening Tour
Councilmember Gil Cedillo's next stop on his districtwide Listening Tour is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Franklin High School café, located at 820 N. Ave. 54. The event is aimed at gathering information about issues in Highland Park, and Highland Park residents are particularly encouraged to attend.

4. Mount Washington Local Issues Committee meeting
The Mount Washington Local Issues Committee of the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet Thursday, Oct. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Mt. Washington Elementary School Library located at 3981 San Rafael Ave. Among the items on the agenda are: Review of results from an ASNC survey regarding Mt. Washington; discussion of clean up day for Marmion Way; call for nominations for committee chair.
