Mark your calendars: Avenue 50 Studio is scheduled to host an event this coming Sunday, Nov. 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate the memory of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, who embodied the very notion of culture for Chicana women, representing everything from  courage, activism, personal strength, to familia, beauty and artistic creativity. The event will feature essays, music and art reflecting Kahlo’s impact on Chicana culture.131 North Ave. 50.
