Curbed LA Features Highland Park for Renters Week

Curbed LA began its second annual renters week with a profile of Highland Park, a neighborhood it deems one of the "most happening rental neighborhoods in Highland Park."

The profile breaks down several aspects of the neighborhood, describing the demographic as Mexican and Salvadoran families mixed with young couples, college students and first wave gentrifiers. The neighborhood's business scene is also highlighted, with Galco's, Scoops, La Estrella, The York and La Cuevita all receiving nods.

The profile asserts that, though Highland Park is known in the real estate scene for its flipped Craftsmen homes, it also has a wide array or rentals. 

From Curbed LA:

[The] Rental stock [comprises] primarily one- and two-bedroom units in buildings that range from the quite old to the merely not new. Think small Craftsman and late Victorian houses--especially in the Garvanza neighborhood east of Figueroa--as well as bungalows and low-rise apartment buildings. Not too much stucco.

According to Curbed, prices range from $650 for a single bedroom apartment to $2,950 for a two-bedroom house.
