HHPNC Meeting

The Highland Park Neighborhood Council will meet on Thursday, March 7 from 7-9 p.m. at the Highland Park Adult Senior Citizen Center.

1) Approval of Agenda
2) Approval of February 21, 2013 Minutes
3) ( 5 min) Discussion and a possible Motion-Tabled from last meeting. Direct budget and finance to develop a strategy to ensure we expand our full allocation from the City, possibly by increasing access to NPG from community organizations. -H. Huezo
4) (10 min) Discussion and Motion: Consider the merits of awarding an Neighborhood Purpose Grant (NPG) for up to $1500 to Aldama Elementary School PTA. Funds will support the school’s Playworks Program. -M. Alcaraz, Micheal Rendois, stakeholder 5) (5 min) Discussion and Motion: Consider the merits of allocating up to $500 in support of the NELA Day of Service. Bills to be paid by using the purchase card, or by billing the HHPNC as is done by our Senior Center. - M. Alcaraz, Heinrich Keifer, stakeholder. 6) (5 min) Discussion and Motion: Consider the merits of allocating up to $200 to provide food and beverages for the East Region Mayor’s Budget Day. Event to be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Boyle Heights Technology Youth Center from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. –G.Castro-Trejo, T. Bonsell, 7) (10 min) Discussion and Motion: Consider the merits of allocating up to $750 in support of a Small Business Mixer to be sponsored by HHPNC. Date, time and place yet to be determined. –A. Salcido 8) (10 min) Discussion and Motion: At the suggestion of DONE, the Board of the HHPNC is asked to vote on a Board Resolution which accounts for any prior fiscal years’ reconciliation reports that are still outstanding. Board members received both the Board Resolution Template and the DONE letter dated March 1, 2013 via email. –J. Potter, M. Alcaraz 9) (5 min) Discussion and possible Motion: Officially support and endorse the work of Outfest Fusion Lab, a cinema and video production space, in Highland Park, with month long workshops and screenings in March. –H. 10) (5min) Discussion: Power outages have become more frequent in Highland Park and the northeast region. Discuss how this can be remedied by possible council follow up and to determine if a transit village can be accommodated given the frequent power outages. – H. Slater
