Fire Damages Highland Park Two-Story Home

HIGHLAND PARK, CA — A fire damaged a two-story home in Highland Park Monday, but firefighters were able to quickly douse the blaze.

The fire was reported just before 4 p.m. in the in the 5300 block East Monte Vista Street, near North Avenue 54. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the flames had reached the attic.

Firefighters put out the fire in 18 minutes. No one was injured in the blaze, which remains under investigation according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
