1. Food Truck Feast
Highland Park’s weekly food truck feast unfolds today at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the parking lot in front of the former Figueroa Produce building, located at 6312 N. Figueroa St., near the York Boulevard intersection. Food trucks from across Los Angeles are expected to be there until 9 p.m. Stay tuned for details.

Highland Park's weekly Farmers Market is scheduled today, Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Avenue 57 and Marmion Way, adjacent to the Metro Gold Line. This is a special kind of market: Proceeds go to the North Figueroa Association, a nonprofit group that will use the money for the security, cleanliness and improvement of the North Fig corridor and community. The Mount Washington Elementary School PTA is scheduled to hold its general association meeting today, Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the school multi-purpose room starting at 6:30 p.m. Topics of discussion include the new Common Core Standards, Accelerated Reader and a new pilot LAUSD middle school (Studio School) located in the Glassell Park elementary school campus. 4. Northeast Democratic Club meeting
Mark your calendars: The monthly meeting of the Northeast Democratic Club is scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 20, at El Arco Iris restaurant, located at 5684 York Blvd., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
5. Highland Park Sportsmen’s Club meeting
Mark your calendars: The Highland Park Sportsmen’s Club will meet at Eagle Rock City Hall, 2035 Colorado Blvd., at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, to discuss a range of gun-related, recreational and sporting issues. Click here to read about the club.
