Got Teddy Bears to Spare For Traumatized Kids?
Mayor Eric Garcetti and LAPD launch a drive to help children undergoing emotional crises.

Mayor Eric Garcetti urged Angelenos Tuesday to donate new teddy bears or other stuffed animals for distribution to children who have gone through a traumatic event or are grieving a loss.
The so-called “Teddy Bear Drive,'' organized by the Mayor's Crisis Response Team and the Los Angeles Police Department, will continue through the
end of the year.
Donations can be deposited at boxes placed at LAPD stations and the mayor's help desks at City Hall, Van Nuys City Hall and in South Los Angeles.
“When children experience a tragedy, they can feel as if everything has been taken away from them,'' Garcetti said. “The simple act of giving a child a teddy bear allows them something to hold onto during a turbulent time.
