HHPNC Submits Letters Regarding Coptic Church, Transit Village Projects
Both letters were approved by the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council last week.
The Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council has gone on record with its stance regarding both the Holy Virgin Mary Orthodox Coptic Church's proposed senior living facility on Aldama and Avenue 50 and the Highland Park Transit Village located between Avenues 56 and 59 behind North Figueroa Street.
In a motion passed unanimously at last week's HHPNC meeting, the neighborhood council approved submitting a letter to the city requesting that an environmental impact study be conducted on the transit village development.
"The HHPNC requests that a narrowed [Environmental Impact Report] be performed on this project because we feel that certain criteria in the mitigated negative declaration will have potentially significant impacts that are not being mitigated," the letter states.
