Locally Filmed Marc Maron Comedy to Premiere May 3

Last fall, local comedian Marc Maron announced on his WTF podcast that he had wrapped shooting on the IFC series that depicts his life in Highland Park.

Recently, IFC announced that the 10 episode series titled Maron would launch on Friday, May 3. On Wednesday, the first scene of the series premiered on Buzzfeed.

In the scene, Maron unloads his personal baggage on a medical professional. Of course, there's a twist.

Maron depicts the comedians life in Highland Park, where he has lived for the past decade and now records his popular comedy podcast.

The show is run by Silvert Glarum and Michael Jamin and also stars Judd Hirsch as Maron's father.

The show will also feature a host of Maron's comedy peers, who travel to the neighborhood to be interviewed for the podcast.

In October, Maron reported on his podcast that actor Danny Trejo was among show's guests who stirred the most buzz in the neighborhood.

"He might as well have been the king of Highland Park," Maron said.
