Neighborhood Council Meetings, LACMA Art Class
The HHPNC and MHIA meet tonight to discuss local issues—and expert LACMA artists expose kids and families to world-class artwork.

1. Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council meeting
The board of the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council is meeting tonight from 7 p.m. to around 9 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, and Highland Park residents are particularly encouraged to attend. Items on the agenda include a discussion and possible action on a letter supporting the Franchise System for Waste Hauling ordinance, as proposed by the advocacy organization LAANE, and a discussion and possible action on reducing HHPNC meetings from two to once monthly.

2. Montecito Heights Improvement Association meeting
The Montecito Heights Improvement Association of the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at the Montecito Heights Senior Center, located at 4545 Homer St., 90031.
3. LACMA art class for kids and families
Expert artists from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art help children and families of all ages understand famous art and the work of artists worldwide, while assisting the artists in attendance with their own artwork. Today at 4 p.m. at the Arroyo Seco Regional Branch Library, 6145 N. Figueroa St. (323) 255-0537.
