Photo Gallery: Dozens of Animals Rescued at Pet Adoption Festival

The event, sponsored in part by the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council and the Friends of the Hermon Dog Park, allowed animal lovers to pay reduced vaccination fees for rescuing a pet.

Valentine's Day came early for dozens of pets and animal lovers on Saturday afternoon, as more than 40 animals were rescued through the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council's and Hermon Dog Park's Adopt a Valentine pet adoption festival.

The celebration wasn't just about adoption, though, as animal lovers were also called to volunteer if they wanted to lend a helping hand, but didn't have the time to be a pet owner.

Special guest Debra Wilson, a longtime cast member on Mad TV and avid animal advocate, told festival attendees at the North Central Animal Shelter on Lacy Street in Cypress Park that any love they could offer the animals would be appreciated.
