Thursday HHPNC Meeting to Focus on Zoning, Funding
The Historic Highland Park could expend of up to $8,000 in city funds on Thursday.

Zoning issues and more than $8,000 in funding requests will dominate Thursday's meeting of the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council, scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Highland Park Adult Senior Citizen Center.
Zoning
- The HHPNC will consider what guidance to provide the City's zoning administration regarding Highland Park Full Gospel Assembly's plans to install a cell tower to their steeple. The church is located at 7131 N. Figueroa St., in a residential zone.

Funding Requests
- The board will revisit the awarding of a $1500 neighborhood purposes grant to ArtsCorpsLA (ACLA). On February 21st the Council voted unanimously to support the La Tierra de la Culebra park at at 240 S. Avenue 57. ACLA needs to engage a fiscal sponsor to handle the funds. A re-vote to award the grant to the fiscal sponsor is needed.
- The board will consider the merits of awarding up to $1500 to Aztecs Rising to fund a neighborhood clean-up. Money will be used to purchase tools, food, and pay a stipend to the cleaners.
- ... awarding up to $1500 via a NPG to the Lincoln Heights Youth Association to fund their football program. They need to buy shoulder pads.
- ... awarding up to $1500 via NPG to the El Sereno Bicentennial Committee to partially fund their 54th annual Independence Day Parade. Event takes place Saturday, June 29, 2013, commencing from the intersection of Huntington Drive and Van Horne Avenue, in El Sereno.
- ... funding up to $315 for the Council District 1 candidates forum scheduled for April 27th at the Highland Park Rec. Center.
- ... funding up to $200 for a mixer to honor Los Angeles City Councilmember Ed Reyes, thanking him for his 12 years of service to Highland Park.
- ... funding up to $250 for the Veterans’ Square Memorial Day event. Money will be used to purchase flowers and plants.
- ... funding up to $600 for promotional items advertising the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council. These would be give-away trinkets such as magnets pens, etc.
- ... funding up to $850 for a HHPNC Outdoor Movie Night to be held May 18, 2013 at either the HP Senior Center or the HP Rec Center. This event was approved by the Outreach Committee.
