Thursday: Mount Washington Students Reveal Voices Within
More than 60 students will perform songs composed with the help of the LA Master Chorale.
Mount Washington Elementary School students will debut original songs composed over the last ten weeks through the LA Master Chorale's Voices Within program during a free concert on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. in the school's multipurpose room.
Thursday's show will feature the LA Master Chorale Chamber Singers performing with the students, most of whom have never studied music before.
The 10-week-long Voices Within program stressed collaboration, according to Libby Huebner, a spokesperson for the LA Master Chorale Chamber Singers. The LAMC artistic team of performer and artistic director, Marnie Mosiman, composer David O and Christy Crowl and writer/lyricist Corey Madden worked intensively with the students to guide them in creating original songs.
