Update: Highland Park Man Killed in South-Pas Traffic Accident

A 72-year-old man was killed Sunday after being hit by a vehicle at Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Drive.

A 72-year-old Los Angeles man is dead Sunday after he was struck by a van traveling east on Pasadena Avenue. 

Around 7:46 a.m., South Pasadena Police received a call of an
auto/pedestrian traffic accident at Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Drive.

The man had been walking north in the crosswalk when he was struck by a van traveling east on Pasadena Avenue, according to reports. The pedestrian was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. A death notification is pending.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the driver is a 71-year-old male from Highland Park. 

Police anticipate filing vehicular manslaughter charges.

There are no signs of intoxication of the driver and blood toxicology is pending.
