What’s the Purpose of a Neighborhood Council?

The newly reformed ASNC Monterey Hills Local Issues Committee tackles the challenge of engaging and informing stakeholders while promoting their participation in city government.

1. ASNC Monterey Hills Local Issues Committee tonight

The newly reformed Monterey Hills Local Issues Committee of the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council is scheduled to conduct the first of its monthly meetings, with David Lyttle as chair, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Marshall Villas Recreation Room, located at 4224 Via Arbolada, 90042. Monterey Hills residents stakeholders are invited to participate in what Lyttle considers to be a “grassroots effort to begin defining and addressing the issues of our community as well as promoting the ASNC's ‘Purpose,’” according to an e-mail communiqué from him.

4. Food Truck Feast

Highland Park’s weekly food truck feast unfolds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the parking lot in front of the former Figueroa Produce building, located at 6312 N. Figueroa St. At least half-a-dozen food trucks from across Los Angeles are expected to be there until 9 p.m.
