Today, Friday, Oct. 4 is National Taco Day, a celebration of the fact that in 2012 Americans devoured 4.5 billion tacos—so many that if they were to be lined up edge to edge, they would be long enough to go to the moon and back, according to NationalTacoDay.com.
As you might expect, Los Angeles Times Food writer Jonathan Gold has come up with a list of his favorite vegetarian tacos in Los Angeles, a city where, it seems abundantly clear, just about every day could be Taco Day, observes the paper.
Back in May, Gold recommended My Taco in Highland Park (6300 York Blvd.) as one of the 13 best taco spots in Southern California.
