Collaborative Workplace Firm Agrees to Major Lease at Columbia Square

It will occupy all of the office space in the renovated, historical Radio and Business buildings of the former CBS West Coast headquarters.

A collaborative workplace firm has agreed to lease all the office space in two buildings in the Columbia Square development at the former site of CBS’ West Coast headquarters, developer Kilroy Realty Corp. announced today.

New York City-based NeueHouse has entered into a 15-year, 93,000-square foot lease agreement. It will occupy all of the office space in the renovated, historical Radio and Business buildings that anchor Columbia Square, a $400 million, 685,000-square foot mixed-use creative office, retail and residential development under construction.

NeueHouse has pioneered what it calls a new model for the collaborative workplace, creating a series of spaces, experiences and amenities that cater to its members, who range from solo entrepreneurs to teams of up to 20 people in the creative arts, including such fields such as film, design, publishing, the performing arts and technology

All members have access to NeueHouse’s fully equipped recording studios, post-production and broadcast facilities, conference rooms, screening room, and private dining rooms with in-house food service.

NeueHouse will provide a wide range of events for its members, including evenings with artists, industry leaders, performers and speakers. Programs will range from a weekly conversation series to film screenings, concerts, readings and private gallery tours.

Columbia Square was CBS’ West Coast headquarters from 1938 until the 1950s and remained home to KNX-AM (1070) and KCBS-TV Channel 2 until 2007. It was purchased by the Kilroy Realty Corp. in 2012 for $65 million.
