Battle By The Beach Wrestling Tournament

Mar Vista High School will once again be hosting it’s annual varsity wrestling tournament. This tournament was started by Bud Harbin thirteen years ago and continues to be one of the highlights of our season.

Last year Mar Vista had two champions: Josh Walters, a senior and Mateo Olmos, a freshman.

This year Mateo will be back to try and repeat as champion. Mar Vista has other young wrestlers that can make it into the finals if they wrestle well. They include, sophomores Christian Winnie. and Daniel Quinones.

Some of the schools that will be attending are Monte Vista, Mira Mesa, Brawley, Granite Hills, Grossmont, Chula Vista and many more. 

The public is invited to come out and support Mar Vista Wrestling, Saturday Dec. 6th. The tournament will run from 10 am.-7 pm with the finals being around 4:30 pm.
