Defund the Police

California Governor Galvin Newsom has announced a State-wide curfew. County Sheriffs throughout the State reported that their Agencies would not be taking additional measures to enforce the curfew or any other State mandates.

Within a few hours of the State announcement; San Diego County Sheriff William Gore announced a Special Forces Unit that would enforce all State mandates. The Sheriff Department’s $1/2 Billion Budget gives Gore such an exorbitant amount of money that Gore had the funding he needed to create a 8-person special ops at a moment’s notice. Sheriff Deputies costs the Taxpayers over $200,000/year, so Gore had $2 million/year worth of Deputies on staff with nothing else to do.

When 'We the People’ say 'Defund the Police’ we mean exactly what we are saying; reduce the bloated budgets of law enforcement agencies as it is clear that the budgets are excessive and that taxpayers’ money is being used against the citizenry.

The intent of law enforcement is to serve and protect the citizens. Law enforcement budgets should reflect the intent. Local and State Law Enforcement Agencies do not need funding to militarize against the local citizens. In case of an emergency, we have the California National Guard.

Proponents for massive law enforcement budgets proclaim that more money equates to more safety. But like a spoiled child; too much money equates to waste, arrogance, and a disregard for the rule of law.

But that is only a list of those in law enforcement that have been convicted. It does not account for the multitude of crimes that law enforcement officers commit, but are are allowed to hide behind the thin blue line. Law Enforcement had the Nor-Cal Rapist’s DNA and knew his vehicle make and model, but the Nor-Cal Rapist was a cop, so his fellow officers dismissed him as ‘not fitting the description’ and never took a DNA sample.

The industries with the highest Covid-19 infections in California are the prisons, the senior citizen homes, and agriculture - specifically in chicken processing plants. We learned from Legionnaires Disease that viruses travel thru the air ducts, but big box stores remain open and the airlines are still flying. If the government was seriously concerned about limiting the virus outbreak it would focus on the major outbreak centers, but small businesses don’t have lobbyists lining politicians’ pockets.

90% of San Diego businesses are small business. Regardless of whether the government is ignorantly or intentionally trying to destroy small business and the private sector; please support your local small businesses to keep your community afloat.

And when you see the Democratic Party and the Main Stream Media denounce the ‘Defund the Police’ movement, understand that the DEMs are controlled by the same lobbyists as the GOP.
