Following a Division IV championship last season, the Imperial Beach Stingrays will begin their 2014 season at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mar Vista High School versus the SoCal Kings of Inglewood, CA, according to the Southern California Rugby Football Union.
The Stingrays would finish the season with a 5-3 record despite a 0-2 start to the season last year. In the playoffs the team beat the #1 seed Dead Rabbits of Apple Valley, CA to win the championship.Â
The Imperial Beach Rugby Club was founded in 2010 and moved from Division IV to Division III play this year.
