Jim C. Walker, 94, Dies; Retired Navy and North Island Worker

He had resided in Imperial Beach for more than 50 years after a long Navy career.

Jim C. Walker, who worked in civil service at North Island Naval Air Station following his Navy stint, died July 18, according to Legacy.com. He was 94.

The Imperial Beach resident logged 22 years in the Navy until he left in 1960 to work at the base. He resided in IB for more than 50 years.

The Louisiana native was a father of four and a long-time member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Unit  289.

Services are set for 10:30 a.m. July 29 at Glen Abbey, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita.
