KUSI removes story after Patch article calls for correction
Without comment, correction, or retraction - KUSI removed the story from their website.
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA - In a update to this story posted just yesterday, apparently in response to public outcry for correction, KUSI removed the entire news story from their website, while providing no comment, correction, or retraction.
That's shabby journalism. Or, is it?
KUSI's misrepresentation was not a misspelling or even a slight error. Dani Ruberti, the reporter, knew she was in the city of San Diego when she - according to her own report - contacted San Diego Police Department about the vandalism. Ruberti and KUSI producers know that Imperial Beach contracts with the sheriff's department.

So why would Ruberti and KUSI knowingly air a 'negative image' story about IB that they knew was false? Before an election? A mayoral election...
This isn't the first time KUSI misreports a story, and it may not be the last. This is also not Ruberti's first rodeo in Imperial Beach. The reporter also aired this negative image story on August 20th, "Dangerous Imperial Beach intersection has community searching for answers", which questions public safety, in San Diego County's 2nd safest city.
