Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Imperial Beach

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

IMPERIAL BEACH, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck Wednesday night by a car in Imperial Beach, authorities said.

The incident was reported around 10:50 p.m. on Palm Avenue between 12th and Florida streets, according to San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

A man was crossing Palm Avenue near 12th Street when he was struck by a 2010 Dodge Challenger, sheriff's Deputy Christopher Allen said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, Allen said. It was determined that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. No other details were immediately available.
