Police Release Sketch of Man Who Attempted Sexual Assault in Ocean Crest

Police released an artist's rendering today of a man who grabbed women in an Ocean Crest-area neighborhood on two recent occasions, apparently in failed attempts to sexually assault them.

The first of the two attacks in the 1200 block of Dennery Road occurred in late April, and the second on May 13, according to San Diego police. In each case, the victim was able to break free and escape, Sgt. Mike Holden said.

The women described the assailant as a thin but athletic-looking, roughly 5-foot-9-inch Latino in his mid-20s to early 30s. Investigators hope the sketch of the man will generate a tip that will lead to his identification.
