San Diego County Business-Type Activities

The County of San Diego has Three (3) Business-Type Activities: the Airport, the Sanitation District, and the Jail Store Commissary.

The Airport Expenses totaled $15,178,000.
The Airport Revenue consisted of $14,281,000 in Charges for Services and $20,000 in Grants for a 2019 Operating Loss of $877,000.

The Sanitation District recorded total Expenses of $32,335,000 and total Revenue of $32,382 for a Operating Profit of $47,000.

The Jail Store Commissary had $5,836,000 in Expenses and $6,978,000 in Revenue for a Operating Profit of $1,142,000.

The County profiting from incarceration while subsidizing the airport.
