School of Rock Revs Up With Grand Opening 2/22 at Otay Ranch TC
Newest location at Otay Ranch Town Center offers music classes for kids of all kinds!
School of Rock, a leader in performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of its newest school in the Otay Ranch community. The grand opening event will take place in the Otay Ranch Town Center at 2015 Birch Road Suite 1107 in Chula Vista, CA from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, February 22. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), it will be an afternoon filled with live music, a School of Rock house band performance, and more.
School of Rock Otay Ranch is owned and operated by Mark Sheffield. Before opening his own School of Rock location, Sheffield was in the U.S. Navy for 22-years. After years of travels and deployments, Sheffield and his family moved to Chula Vista for the next phase of their lives. Once moved, Sheffield became interested in pursuing a career in small business ownership that would allow him to make a positive impact and benefit his family and community.
“I’ve always had a strong passion for music, and after hearing about School of Rock and wanting to get my children involved, I knew opening one of my own was the perfect opportunity,” said Sheffield. “School of Rock allows us to build a business, create memorable experiences for students in our community, while also allowing my family to spend more quality time together.”
School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Frank Zappa. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
