Underground Power Plant Demolition to be Considered by State Body

The South Bay Power Plant came down with booms that rippled across South San Diego last February.

The California Coastal Commission will meet Tuesday at The Catamaran Resort Hotel in San Diego to consider the approval of a permit for the second phase of demolition to get rid of remaining above ground structures, below ground structures and part of the building's foundation.

The power plant is being removed to make way for the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan.

See this California Coastal Commission document or see this San Diego Daily Transcript article for more information about the second phase of the South Bay Power Plant demolition.
