Effective Thursday, Sweetwater Union High School District Trustee Arlie Ricasa will resign from the school board, district officials announced Wednesday.
Ricasa took a plea deal and admitted to one misdemeanor count for accepting gifts and not reporting them on state-mandated forms, according to NBC San Diego.
A Mar Vista High School graduate, Ricasa had been on the school board since 1998. An appointment will be made to fill her seat on the school board.
About a dozen current and former South Bay school officials are scheduled to face charges related to pay-to-play politics in February.
