2 Killed In Violent Wrong-Way Crash On 210 Freeway

The crash in La Cañada Flintridge was so brutal, California Highway Patrol wasn't sure who caused it.

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, CA – A wrong way driver on the Foothill (210) Freeway in La Cañada Flintridge Sunday triggered a crash that killed two and was so violent, CHP wasn't sure who caused it.

The motorists were identified as Bruce Alvarenga, 24, of Panorama City and Kevork Khamisian, 32, of Sun Valley, according to the coroner's office.

The California Highway Patrol received a call at 1:46 a.m. about a motorist going eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway at the Angeles Crest (2) Highway just minutes before the crash, said CHP Officer Stephan Brandt.

A SigAlert was issued at 2:14 a.m. for the closure of all westbound lanes of the Foothill (210) Freeway at the Angeles Crest (2) Highway interchange. It was cancelled at 5:50 a.m., Brandt said.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 1:50 a.m. and did not find any injured people, according to a county fire department dispatcher.
