Breakfast and Braking, Lunch and Line Theory - Motorcycle and Car Technical Skills Workshop with Ian Carpenter

A free workshop for motorcycle rider and car drivers with Ian Carpenter
Sunday, November 18 at 10 AM at Chilao School, Angeles National Forest

An interactive workshop with Ian Carpenter, a professional driving and riding instructor. This is a free event for motorcycle riders and car drivers of all skill levels and everyone is welcome. Canyon riding is its own sport and the point of these workshops is to share potentially life-saving knowledge and technique...stuff you may do automatically without even thinking about...with others who may or may not be at the same skill level. As far as we're concerned there really are no dumb questions, just brave people willing to ask and learn.
Braking will be our breakfast topic, served with coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, granola and so forth. (There are no donut shops up here. If you want fresh donuts, you have to bring them). At some point close to noon the menu will be enhanced with lunch items and we'll transition to a slightly different look at line theory...or whatever spontaneously emerges as an important topic...also an opportunity for interaction, feedback, questions.

Chilao School is located 27 miles above La Canada Flintridge in the Angeles National Forest, Chilao Campground. We are two miles southeast of Newcomb's Ranch, in the campground, across the road from the fire station. Google maps and GPS tend to bring people to unusual and inaccurate locations, so, from the 210 freeway in La Canada Flintridge, exit Angeles Crest Highway (Highway 2 north) and proceed 26-27 miles into the forest. Turn left into Chilao campground at mile marker 49.69. Follow red, black and white signs through the campground to Chilao School. Autos with handicapped drivers or passengers and motorcycles are welcome to park in front of the school. for all other autos, there is additional parking behind the school.

This will be our last workshop of the 2018 season at Chilao School, and we look forward to seeing everyone.
