LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CA — Three La Cañada Flintridge burglary suspects were arrested Sunday after a high-speed pursuit led to a crash.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy initiated a pursuit after seeing a reckless driver going about 100 miles per hour on the southbound 2 Freeway near Mountain Avenue, the LASD Crescenta Valley Station press release said. Deputies eventually cancelled their pursuit due to the high speeds, but within seconds of the cancelled pursuit, Deputy Afsharian found the car had crashed on the off-ramp at Mountain Avenue, the press release said.

Deputies set up a perimeter, detained three suspects and found a "large amount of jewelry" in the car, authorities said. Deputies investigated further and learned a residential burglary had occurred on the 800 block of Lynnhaven Lane in La Canada Flintridge. The owners came to the scene and told deputies the jewelry found in the suspects' car belonged to them.
