CIF-SS Spring Coaches' Polls Through May 9

The CIF-Southern Section released its baseball and softball coaches' polls for the final week of the regular season Monday. Pay special attention to these polls as next week's playoff brackets will be determined by where each team is ranked in the polls. That means that if La Canada closes out its season without dropping a game, then the Spartans should be the No. 1 seed when the Division 5 softball polls are released next Monday.

There weren't many changes as far as where the local teams stack up in the polls. Arcadia and Crescenta Valley baseball are still No. 4 and 5, respectively, in Division 2. The Apaches and Falcons will clash one final time Friday night at 7 p.m. at Arcadia in a game that will not just determine the Pacific League title, but will greatly influence each team's playoff path.

The Spartans softball team is No. 1 again in Division 5, and San Marino remains at No. 5.
