Alaskan Storm to Bring Thunder, Rain and Cold Temperatures

Expect rain Friday and Sunday, and overnight temperatures in the 40s.

A storm from the Gulf of Alaska has moved into Southern California, bringing a 90 percent chance of showers in Laguna Beach today, the National Weather Service reported.

Two-tenths of an inch is expected at sea level, with up to the three-quarters of an inch in the mountains, where snow may fall as low as 4,500 feet this morning. Above 5,000 feet, one to two inches of snow is expected.

Meanwhile, temperatures will continue to drop with a high of 58 degrees in Laguna Beach today and an overnight low around 48 degrees.

Forecasters expect a break in the storm Saturday with a strong chance of rain again on Sunday.
