
Laguna Beach just landed on another one of those lists that masquerade as articles.
And this one is decidedly sexier than most: CNN/Money's list of top 25 places for the rich and single. Laguna Beach landed at a paltry #21 on the list, below such top towns as Concord, Mass., Manhattan Beach, Calif., and the #1 burg, University Park, Texas (huh?)
A description on the site doesn't reveal much as to why Laguna was chosen for this, um, honor, and the blurb gives no ground other than to state the all-too-obvious to most of us: there's art here, so you could "(M)eet a fellow patron at the Laguna Art Museum, which focuses on California artists. Aspiring creatives can drop in for workshops at the Laguna College of Art + Design. And for the truly bold, there's the Pageant of the Masters."
Hmmm. We've heard the Pageant of the Masters described in assorted adjectives over the years, but "bold" is certainly a first. Unless they really meant to equate boldness with navigating through Pageant traffic in the canyon on a Friday night ...
