City of Laguna Beach Accepts Women in Transportation Award

Shohreh Dupuis, Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works recently accepted the Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) Award.

Shohreh Dupuis, Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works recently accepted the Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) Award for Outstanding Innovative Transportation Solution for the new “Laguna Beach Parking App." This award salutes the creative work of an outstanding and innovative transportation project or service that improves the quality of life for its users and the community. Dupuis accepted the award on behalf of the City at the 2019 WTS-OC Awards & Scholarship Gala on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim.

Through the “Laguna Beach Parking App,” users enter their destination in Laguna Beach to find the closest available parking in real time. Users can also pay for their parking through the App, keep track of remaining time, and even extend their parking session remotely. Through the App, the City aims to reduce circling, gridlock and traffic congestion in the downtown area while showing drivers all available parking in real time. It was developed and launched in summer of 2019 as part of a partnership between the City and Frogparking, a leading mobile app system developer for parking and transit.

The “Laguna Beach Parking App” is now free to download through the App Store and Google Play. You can also download the App at www.lagunabeachparking.net.
