City of Laguna Beach Begins Installation of Smart Parking System

This week, the City of Laguna Beach Public Works Department began its installation of the City's new Smart Parking Guidance System.

This week, the City of Laguna Beach Public Works Department began its installation of the City's new Smart Parking Guidance System. This system will provide information to the upcoming Laguna Beach Parking app that will provide real-time parking availability throughout the City to residents and visitors using the app on any smartphone. Users will be able to use the app to find an empty parking spot, pay for parking and the app will also alert users when their metered parking time is about to run out. The app will launch to the public once all the sensors are installed, or around the end of June.

Through the end of May, parking meters in downtown Laguna Beach and in the parking lots will intermittently be closed between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the installation of the Smart Parking sensors. The parking meter/space will immediately open once the sensor is installed. For questions or concerns, please contact Deputy Director of Public Works, Paula Faust, at (949) 497-0303 or pfaust@lagunabeachcity.net.
