Council Approves Revised Remodel For Coast Inn
A downsized building renovation plan was approved for the historic Coast Inn.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach's city council approved the Coast Inn property renovation this week after much back and forth with the owner and neighbors.
The approval for restoring the property, a 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival style hotel described by the OC Register, passed 4-1 with Councilwoman Toni Iseman opposing, has been in the works since 2015.
Owner Chris Dornin, a Laguna Beach resident, made concessions with the plans at the council meeting. The rooftop deck he planned for the historic building has been reduced to a mere 2,500 square feet.

The once-famed Boom Boom Room will be replaced by the Bear Flag Fish Co., as a "fast-casual" restaurant and fish market, according to the Register.
