Fill Up For Less In Laguna Beach, Gas Prices Drop

Gas prices continue to drop across the Southland, but what would you consider "cheap" these days?

LAGUNA BEACH, CA —It's a little less painful to purchase gas these days, especially if you fill up at a membership based location, such as Costco or Sam's Club. the experts say. The Orange County average price Thursday dropped for the 24th consecutive day and 43rd time in the past 44 days, decreasing 1.7 cents to $3.701, its lowest amount since April 3.

The price of a club-based gasoline distributor can be even less. According to GasBuddy.com, the lowest gas price in Laguna Beach as of Thursday, June 20 was $3.69 at the 7-Eleven on Pacific Coast Highway. In Fountain Valley, the cheapest gas is available to members of Sam's Club, at the location on 9940 Warner Avenue at $3.30 per gallon.

The cost of a gallon of self serve regular unleaded gasoline has decreased 39.5 cents over the past 44 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 8.2 cents less than one week ago and 29.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 3.7 cents more than one year ago.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the 44th consecutive day, falling 1.5 cents to $3.754, its lowest amount since April 3.

The average price has decreased 36.6 cents during the streak, including 1 cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.7 cents less than one week ago and 27.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 4.9 cents more than one year ago.
